If you’re like me, then you’re probably aren’t too familiar with time share rentals or about the specific details of owning a time share. I know people who have time shares and I also know people who’ve gone to time share presentations, who’ve in turn received a free or reduced travel stay. For me, I hate going to any type of sales pitch because I have a problem saying no to people and I know I’ll get suckered into a $1,000 a month payment for the next 50 years! My brother is convinced that Joe and I should buy a time share because we love to travel, but I’m just not sure I’m sold on the idea of being financially responsible for such a long-term commitment.

However, time share rentals have caught my attention because you can stay in a resort or condo for the same amount of money if not less than what you would pay for a hotel room without the added responsibility of being financially committed to long-term fees and dues. When Joe and I were first married, we rented a house outside of Orlando for $60.00 a night that had 4 bedrooms, three full baths, a laundry room and a built in pool. (What a steal, right?!) It was a fantastic home-away-from-home and we didn’t even have to share a bathroom. Plus, I did our laundry before we left back for New Jersey, so I didn’t have to be bothered with it when I got home. This has me thinking because with a time share rental, we can pretty much get the same sort of space anywhere in the world like Rome or in the Caribbean and we wouldn’t even have to share a bathroom. (Unless of course, if the room is haunted then y’all know we’ll be taking showers together!)
I found this interesting website called SellMyTimeShareNow.com where you can search available time share rentals anywhere in the world, plus purchase them. There is a fantastic resource page on this website that explains the specifics of different types of time shares. SellMyTimeShareNow.com even has pet friendly time share rentals and time shares to purchase! (Aw, Lil’ Bob Barker would love traveling with us!) As far as my brother trying to convince us to buy a time share, I think renting a time share would be a great stepping stone to see if we’re a good fit to purchase a vacation time share!
How about you? What have your experiences been like with buying or renting a time share?
